My avatar does not perform well certain actions and stances

Thursday, March 5, 2009

All avatars derived from IMVU's original Male and Female avatars have a limitation in which some actions and stances which are embedded in rooms do not perform as supposed to. This is because the deafault ID for avatar actions and stances in rooms and locked rooms is either 80 or 191, and since these rooms do not recongnize a different avatar ID number as a regular avatar, the derived avatar cannot perform in some situations as the regular one does.

This issue has been reported to IMVU through email and a post at the IMVU Bugs forum. To read more about this issue and to keep yourself updated on this, please visit the following link:

Avatar Derivation Bug

I have fully tested and retested my derived avatars in different locked rooms, rooms, and with poses and furniture, and the only limitation to this issue seems to be on some (not all) actions and stances embedded on certain rooms.

Since this is an IMVU-related problem, you can also report this issue directly to IMVU so they can work a fix to this. You can do so by filling a support ticket HERE.

Some derivable products are not loading properly to the IMVU Previewer, or are having errors/missing elements

Because of some compatibility issues with the old IMVU Previewer and the 3DS Max exporter, some Content Creators (included me) are using the latest version of the IMVU Previewer to upload new derivable products to the IMVU Catalog.

So if you upload a derivable product on the IMVU Previewer and you see any error messages or find that there are missing elements (like materials) on the Previewer, please upgrade to the latest version of the IMVU Previewer.

If updating does not resolves the problem, please fill a support ticket HERE since this may be an IMVU-related problem.

To put on an APO avatar, just look for it on the Restricted Content area of your IMVU Inventory:

To take it off, simply put on any regular avatar from the Avatar section of your IMVU Inventory:

APO avatars and APO skins

If you put on an APO avatar and your APO skin does not seem to be working (you see a skin with 'leaves' or any other restrictive graphics covering the private parts of the avatar, that means that you are wearing a General Audience skin over the APO avatar's skin.

To fix this, just go to the My Outfit section of your IMVU Inventory, and remove any skins that you may be wearing.

You can also use over my APO avatars any Access Pass Only skins that you may have bought from other Developers, since the APO Avatar is 100% fully compatible with other skins and accesories.

Your APO avatar can't be seen by other users

If you put on an APO avatar and other people can't see it, or just see a 'Ghost' with a sign over them saying Loading':

It doesn't means that my avatar isn't working correctly (or that your PC is haunted), it just means that the person you are showing the APO avatar to does not has the IMVU Access Pass.

This is an APO product, and only those who have purchased the Access Pass from IMVU, Inc. will be able to see it properly and/or buy it. If the person that cannot see this product wants to purchase the AP in order to see it and enjoy restricted features on IMVU, tell them to go
HERE.
